Steven Jones
Born in 1959, Steven spent most of his early childhood in Llysfaen, a small, idyllic village in the hills of North Wales. The panoramic views of the surrounding landscape inspired him to sketch and paint. By the age of 10, he had won his first national painting competition.
After studying art at Wrexham he spent 4 years in London working as a freelance illustrator. In 1985, he moved back to North Wales. He concentrated on paintings for galleries after being inspired by the French Impressionists and the Newlyn artists. In 1990, he set up his own gallery where he began publishing, marketing and selling his limited edition prints and greeting cards.
His beach paintings now sell throughout Britain and on the coastlines of Florida and California. In January 2005, he was featured on the ' Sioe Gelf ' TV programme on S4C.
